Csaba Szabó, PI of the research group MTA-SZTE Lendület Mithras Research Group received a Humboldt Excellence Research Fellowship (2026 summer and winter and summer of 2027). He will spend 9 months at the Leibniz Institute of Archaeology in Mainz (mentor: prof. dr. Dominik Maschek, member of the Academia Europaea). His research will focus on religious glocality, convivence and social cohesion in the Roman cult of Mithras in Pannonia and will prepare the English monograph on the cult of Mithras in Pannonia.
