Members of our research group visited several important museums and collections in Hungary and Romania during the summer of 2026. We spent several hours and often days in the rich collections of the Hungarian National Museum (3 different locations), Aquincum Archeological Park, Székesfehérvár, Dunaújváros, Gorsium Archaeological Park, Baláca, Graz, Zagreb, Deva, Sibiu and Cluj. Almost two hundred monuments were documented in the last few months, many of them never photographed or documented before, with unique details observed, which proves that the personal autopsy and examination of each individual object is an essential part of the research. There is no history of religions and archaeology of religion without objects and they need to be documented in the museums.
In the following years we will continue to visit 40 other museums in 5 countries, the largest ever fieldwork project focusing on a Roman divinity at the moment.
