{"id":880,"date":"2026-04-15T16:03:49","date_gmt":"2026-04-15T16:03:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/roman-mithras.hu\/?p=880"},"modified":"2026-04-20T13:39:36","modified_gmt":"2026-04-20T13:39:36","slug":"mithras-day-at-the-faculty-of-humanities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/roman-mithras.hu\/?p=880","title":{"rendered":"Mithras Day at the Faculty of Humanities"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The ancient, early modern, and contemporary metamorphoses and reception of Roman Mithras were explored in <a href=\"https:\/\/vallastudomanycom.wordpress.com\/konferenciak\/\">five lectures<\/a> organized by the Department of Religious Studies and the MTA\u2013SZTE Momentum Mithras Research Group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The presentations addressed the research group\u2019s innovative methodology, the late antique reception of Mithras in Hermetic and magical literature, the role of banquets in antiquity and in Mithraic liturgy, the interest of Freemasons in ancient religions, and the reconstructed traditions of contemporary Neopagan movements. Lectures were addressed by Csaba Szab\u00f3, Endre Hamvas, R\u00f3bert P\u00e9ter, Attila Hajd\u00fa and R\u00e9ka Szil\u00e1rdi. The food for experimental archaeology was made by Attila Hajd\u00fa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We extend our thanks to the speakers and to all participants for their engagement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The presentation
